Darren Simons and Elliott Struble battled through a Shootout featuring two past champion teams to earn top honors in extra holes in the mens' Founders Cup at Bavarian Hills. Diana Muccio and Marybeth Decarli prevailed in the womens' division shootout on a beautiful day for golf. Midway through July, four aces have been recorded already this season! Sue Vargo of Monroeville aced the par-three 13th hole on July 12 (her second ace of the season with her 11-wood!) AJ Straub aced the third hole in the Cavaliers tournament on May 23. Gerry Eckert posted a 1 on the 13th hole while playing in the Senior League on May 13. On April 10, the official opening day for the course, Paula Coudriet scored a hole in one on the third hole.
Speaking of eagles, this one has taken up residence near the second tee.

David Feldbauer, Michael Feldbauer, Steve Bagley, and Bill Roberts gobbled up the overall title in the Bavarian Hills Turkey Shoot tournament. The event was a Captain and Crew scramble and proceeds benefited the St. Marys United Way. See full results by clicking here.

The team of Bryan Valentine and Kenny Salter fought their way through the bracket to claim the 2013 Member-Member match play tournament, while Diana Muccio and Theresa Vavala claimed the ladies' division.

Paula Coudriet carded an 81 to claim overall gross honors and Janice Woelfel's net 66 led a field of 70 golfers in the 2013 Bavarian Hills Ladies' Open. Click here for full results.
Tom Krieg and Ken Salter prevailed over a field of 18 teams to claim the men's Founder's Championship, while Sandy Wilson and Joan Emmert led the eight teams in the women's division. The top five men's teams and the top three women's teams qualified for a three-hole shootout which was well-attended and well-cheered. Full results, photos, and video are coming soon!
The Hills has seen three holes in one already this season: Paula Coudriet aced the 9th hole with a 9-wood, witnessed by Judy Wendel and Joan Emmert on May 29. Bryan Valentine found the cup with a pitching wedge on the 13th hole on July 28, witnessed by John Bauer, Tom Krieg, and Tim Bauer. Ken Salter's 9-iron shot on the 3rd hole was witnessed on August 21 by Sam Breniman, Steve Skok, and Matt Spangler. Congratulations!
